UNION OF PROGRESSIVE JEWS OF GERMANY ANNUAL CONFERENCE LARGEST EVER

This year's 11th annual conference of the Union of Progressive Jews of Germany was the largest conference with over 180 participants and the largest group of Russian-speaking participants to date. They were especially thrilled to have the World Union for Progressive Judaism's Rabbi Joel Oseran and Mrs. Paula Edelstein attend the conference. Arzenu Germany and Arzenu Europe were launched during the weekend and a bright future is certainly assured for this newest addition to the UPJ family. Many fascinating workshops were offered in English, Russian and German. Cantor Josee Wolfe from HUC was an excellent addition to the workshop lineup and her leading of Friday night services created a very special Kavanah. The participants enjoyed daily and Shabbat services and a moving Havdalah service organized by "Young and Jewish Germany". The UPJ's general sectretary, Irith Raub-Michelsohn, conference coordinator, is congratuled for organising an excellent conference.
